MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT 

Dear Friends of Theatre Horizon,

I have enjoyed a front-row seat to witness the evolution of our theatre company, from its early days as a small group of dreamers, to its current status as a highly-respected and critically-lauded professional arts organization/theatre. 

Theatre Horizon experienced tremendous growth in 2007, both artistically and organizationally, reaching over 400 students and nearly 2,500 audience members in Montgomery County. 

On the stage, our productions continued to receive rave reviews from The Philadelphia Inquirer and local press.  Our 2007 season included something for everyone, with a hilarious sketch comedy show, a puppet show for kids, and the beautiful musical Once on this Island with its inspiring message against hate and intolerance. 

We also launched a promising annual event:  The Holiday Show, an original musical created by the Artistic Directors.  The Holiday Show generated excitement among our audiences, and unprecedented box office receipts. 

Our mission extends from the stage into encouraging the growth of the entire community.  We hired an Education Director, and have begun to explore the forefront of drama therapy techniques, applying our teaching artists' skill and compassion to the problems of autism. 

I am proud to lead an energetic and dedicated Board of Directors, including three new trustees beginning two-year terms, and several others who volunteer their skills and expertise in our committees.

“Great theatre.  Close to home.”  That’s our motto – it’s what we’ve achieved, and what guides us in the future.
